Clusters of small, fragrant, fluffy, bluish-purple flowers top this low, mounding shrub. Green foliage with silvery undersides is aromatic when crushed and should be cut back for the winter.

Caryopteris is best treated as a woody perennial, i.e., prune heavily in winter to promote vigorous growth and good flowering. Grow best in loose loam and will tolerate some drought.
